What the workflow is actually like
The upright routine starts with a filter in the cap and the brewer on a stable mug. Coffee and hot water go into the chamber before the plunger pushes the brew through the filter. Paper filtration keeps most fine particles out of the cup and makes cleanup largely a matter of ejecting the puck and rinsing the contact parts.
“Portable” does not mean self-contained. Away from home you still need suitable coffee, a way to heat and measure water, a sturdy cup and spare filters.
